Pink is the New Blog: a guilty pleasure

PinkIsTheNewBlog.com, or PITNB for short, is a celebrity gossip blog. Similar to PerezHilton.com, it is pretty simple and easy to navigate.

Neat and Tidy

The information in this blog is generally straight to the point. It starts out with a little introduction and a description of what may be happening in a photo. Then it gives a little background about a celebrity or recent information that is related to the story.

The picture above shows how short one of the stories might be on PITNB. There's not very much unnecessary rambling about the celebrities. I do wish the blog had less pictures of the blogger himself at different random events. I don't care that much about what he's doing.

Picture Perfect

This blog knows that people like pictures. It includes a photo with every little story. Including writing on top of the photos gives the blog a feel reminiscent of passing gossipy notes in class. However, I like that PITNB uses actual font that is nicely formatted instead of just going freehand on the photos with the drawing or painting tools. Even though the photo art is simply fun defacing for a laugh, the nice formatting makes it feel more professional.

Pick and choose

It's really useful that PITNB has "Categories" in the sidebar to choose what topics the reader wants to focus on. Some of the choices are:

• Celebrity justice
• Fashion feuds
• Hollywood "It" Girls
• Hook-ups
  
• Red Carpet
• Rumors
  

These categories are helpful because the people who are interested in "Engagements" might not be interested in "Wardrobe malfunctions."
